Tuesday, March 15, 2011. Land of the Rising Phoenix. Since the first millenium, Japan has been known as the Land of the Rising Sun. For the past two decades, that country was visibly slumping, decaying perhaps, and the world wondered if it was witnessing the twilight of Japan as a world power. Nations are supposed to rise and fall, history teaches us. Ancient Greece, Rome, Spain, Britain have all had their time in the limelight, and we wonder if the US is past its prime.

I dont think about it much any more. But my body remembers. I dont go downtown much, and when I do, its a conscious effort - not a big effort, but definitely a mental alarm is raised in my mind, and I deliberately ignore it. Wednesday, April 25, 2012. And 83 years later on the same day Harland and AnnaBeth wed in this beautiful temple. So on the 100th anniversary of the Titanic sinking and our 17th wedding anniversary we went back to commemorate where we began. Then later we went to one of my other favorite San Diego places. Of course Harland always has to be different.
One, two, Go! Anxiously counting exciting events through life. Born seven months ago! I know. We are all so very much in love with him. he has brightened our lives. The big boy and I did some homeschool kindergarten together. We learned the pledge of allegiance and recited it to start off our school day. also with that, we learned about the United States of America and where we live.
